The audio quality is excellent, and the materials appear to be of high quality as well. I’ve been using them for a while now, and they haven’t failed me. I highly recommend them.

I haven’t had them for long, but they arrived in perfect condition, even the box. They sound quite good, although not extremely loud. The quality is solid, and I haven’t had the chance to test the microphone yet, but the audio and overall presentation met my expectations. I’m confident this will be a worthwhile investment.

When I first got the headset, I encountered some issues. The main problem was that during Discord calls, people could hear their own voices through my mic. I tried every possible fix, but nothing worked. The only solution seemed to be turning everyone’s volume down so low that I could barely hear anything. I was about to give up when I decided to plug the headset into the back of my computer. To my surprise, the echo disappeared, and the headset started working perfectly! I can now play loud music right next to me without my mic picking it up, and my friends no longer hear an echo, no matter how high I turn up their volume. I can even boost my mic without any echo issues. Overall, it’s genuinely a great product—10/10.
Additionally, I didn’t have to pay for any extra software. Razer provides a code that lets you set up a free 7.1 surround sound feature with the headset, if you want. While the software doesn’t have much in it, I don’t use it often, so it’s not an issue for me. It fulfills its main purpose of enabling me to hear and communicate with others while gaming. There’s also an optional purchase called THX Spatial Audio for $20, but it comes with a code for 50% off, making it only $10, which is reasonable. I’m not sure if everyone gets the code or if it’s limited, but I stumbled upon it and was able to use it. The trial version lets you test it for 15 days, and I found it pretty impressive. You can customize sounds and adjust various frequencies, among other options. The headset is quite comfortable and fits me well, though those with larger heads might need to adjust the ear pieces down on the metal bars. Overall, I really enjoyed using this headset. 5 stars!

I previously had the Razer Kraken Wired gaming headset, which I absolutely loved. It held up for four years despite being chewed on by numerous foster kittens, enduring multiple drops, four moves, countless gaming sessions, and school use. This new model has a similar sound quality but a much better fit. I appreciate that I can comfortably wear my glasses and pull my hair up without my side bangs getting in the way of the headset. The microphone is decent, but my friends mentioned I sounded a bit quieter than before. The color is nice, too. However, I do have a couple of minor issues: it’s disappointing that you need to pay for software to customize the settings, and when plugged into the front of my PC, I experienced an annoying hum. This was resolved by plugging it into the back, which required using an extra cord. If those concerns aren’t a dealbreaker, this headset is a great value for the price.

Great headphones, lightweight and comfortable.
The product is positioned perfectly as an entry-level option.
The bass and mid-bass are quite powerful, so if that’s your thing, Razer is the way to go.
The highs can feel a bit muted, but this can easily be adjusted with an equalizer.
The free surround app works exceptionally well.
I recommend using Dolby Atmos for the ultimate experience.

They arrived quickly and were very well packaged.
They are amazing, both in color and shape.
Comfortable and fully functional.
You can tell they are made from good materials.
I’ll see how they hold up over the coming months.
Highly recommended for gaming due to their fantastic sound.
I wouldn’t recommend them for music listening, but that’s a matter of personal preference, especially considering their size and warm weather conditions.
Nonetheless, they sound incredible.

These headphones are outstanding. They offer a fantastic sound balance, impressive noise-canceling features, and are extremely comfortable to wear. The microphone quality is excellent, with no feedback issues. The muting capabilities are so effective that it can be hard to tell how you sound, but it adapts well, and you’ll likely sound great no matter what. I recommend purchasing the aux version instead of USB, as it allows for compatibility with various devices, including VR headsets.

These headphones are incredibly comfortable for extended use and deliver exceptional audio quality. They feel very durable and well-constructed. The microphone performance is among the best I’ve experienced. I previously owned the wireless Bluetooth version of this headset, which was heavier and less comfortable; while it worked fine when plugged in, the audio quality and microphone performance dropped significantly when using Bluetooth. The only downside is the lack of sidetone. The cord length could be better without the splitter, but when using the splitter, it’s more than sufficient.

They fit securely when worn, offer excellent noise cancellation, and cover your ears completely. They’re lightweight, so you don’t feel any discomfort on your head where the ear pads sit. The sound quality is outstanding, especially for playing Warzone, as you can hear other players’ footsteps very clearly. They outperform the Astro A10 in terms of sound quality and comfort.

Considering the price, I had relatively modest expectations for this headset. Previously, I used a Corsair Virtuoso SE wireless headset, which boasted an excellent microphone and impressive sound quality. However, the connection with my PS4 was often unstable, leading to frequent audio dropouts. Friends with PS4s highly recommended using the 3.5mm jack on the controller, so I decided to give it a try.
Build Quality
Upon picking up the headset, the first thing that struck me was its lightweight design. It feels reasonably sturdy, although it’s evident that premium materials weren’t the main focus. Its lightness contributes to exceptional comfort; while I’ve never had issues with heavier headsets causing neck strain, the lightweight build should be great for extended use. The ear pads feature faux leather on both the inner and outer rings, while the part that sits against your head feels more breathable. I anticipate no discomfort during long sessions. The clamping force is just right—not too tight, ensuring they stay in place without feeling like a vice grip.
Mic Quality
After making some calls with the microphone, I was pleased to hear that no one realized I was on a headset. “It sounds like you’re talking on your phone,” one friend remarked. Although the design has a gamer aesthetic, I could easily see these being suitable for conference calls (as long as video is off). Overall, the microphone quality is impressive.
Audio Quality
I expected the audio quality to be a weak point, but I was pleasantly surprised. I made an admittedly unfair comparison with my Sennheiser HD600s connected to an AudioQuest DragonFly Black DAC/AMP. In terms of vocal clarity and detail, there was simply no contest. However, the Razer headset performed respectably. It delivered clear, punchy bass without any muddiness. While the Corsair Virtuoso provided a fuller sound, its unreliable connection was a drawback. Gaming audio is generally more forgiving than music, so I tested the headset with a couple of games. In “Unravel,” which emphasizes background music, the sound was excellent. I also tried “Borderlands 3,” and the headset held its own during the chaos.
Flaws (But Not Deal Breakers)
One quirk that threw me off was the volume knob; turning it clockwise actually decreases the volume, which is the opposite of what I expect from most knobs. Additionally, it would be helpful to have an LED indicator to show when I’m muted—I initially failed a call because I had the mute engaged.
Conclusion
The Razer Blackshark V2 X may have a puzzling name, but it offers outstanding value for its price. I don’t participate in online gaming as much as I used to and spend more time listening to music. For my needs, it makes sense to have a quality pair of headphones for music and solo play, alongside an affordable headset for online gaming and conference calls. This headset fits the bill perfectly.
