These are exactly what I needed! They’re super comfortable, and the sound quality is just what I expected from Turtle Beach headsets. Incredible value for the price! I purchased the blue ones, and even though they’re labeled for PS5, they work flawlessly with my Xbox!

I’m writing this on the first day after receiving my Turtle Beach headset. The audio quality from both the headphones and the microphone is excellent, although the mic does produce a slight echo when positioned too close to my mouth. Keeping it about 4-7 inches away eliminates that issue, and I appreciate that the mic is detachable. The instructions are surprisingly clear, especially for those who may not be tech-savvy. However, they mention a splitter cable that isn’t included with the 50P model or the 50x model; it only comes with the standard Recon 50 model.
I’ve tested the headset with a Dell OptiPlex 5060 SFF and my HP laptop, both of which have a single audio jack. With the Dell, I can use the Wavemaxx Audio Pro to select how the headset is recognized—like headphones, a headset, speakers, or just a mic. Unfortunately, the laptop lacks this feature but still recognizes both audio input and output. Just a heads-up: it plays back your own voice through the headphones, so keep that in mind if you’re using it with a laptop.
The mic is quite sensitive, picking up sounds from a TV at moderate volume from about eight feet away. I purchased this headset primarily for voice chatting, recording, and gaming. However, the cord is extremely short, making it uncomfortable to use on my PC without being too close to the screen. I plan to try it with my PS4 controller and will update on its performance.

I’m a massive fan of budget Turtle Beach headsets, and I recently purchased these to replace my old Ear Force PLa’s, which had served me well for years (still functional, thanks to some creative tape repairs). For just ten dollars more, the difference is remarkable.
As others have mentioned, these aren’t high-end headsets, but considering they’re only $40, that’s to be expected. The sound quality is clear and crisp, while the microphone is loud and clear without being too sensitive (the windscreen works wonderfully). I’m even using Dragon to type this with the mic plugged into my laptop! Some users have noted that the mic is inflexible, but I haven’t had any issues finding a position that works. That said, I do wish they had used the ribbed, semi-metallic covering from the PLa line instead of the more rigid plastic coating.
The leather-feel ear cups are excellently designed and generously padded, providing a very comfortable fit that forms an almost airtight seal around my ears. Applying pressure to the sides of the cups while wearing them noticeably increases ear pressure (probably best not to do that).
The entire headset is lightweight, largely due to the plastic construction, which feels sturdier than many other plastic headsets. The 4-foot cord doesn’t offer much length, but it’s tailored for console controller audio jacks, so it’s adequate for that purpose. For use with an MP3 player or laptop, the length is perfect if you don’t need excess slack.
Now for the downsides:
The in-line volume and mic control is small and a bit challenging to grip (almost too smooth), and the volume knob is narrow and set deep within the control box. Locating it blindly can be tricky, but I expect it will loosen with use. I would recommend repositioning it closer to the wire’s splitter for easier access, though I realize this is a matter of personal preference.
The microphone only inserts into the headset one way, requiring you to align a cut-out on the mic with a tab on the jack. While it’s not impossible to do this while wearing the headset, I suggest deciding whether to keep the mic in or out beforehand. I’m not sure why this design choice was made, and I hope future models will change it.
The connecting band has minimal padding across the top of the head. The fill is not only small but made of the same low-density foam used in the ear cups, which makes it almost ineffective. It’s not uncomfortable once you adjust the fit, but it seems like little thought was put into this aspect. A thicker or higher-density foam could improve future designs.
Each ear cup connects to one half of the wire, which I find less enjoyable, although this design helps prevent twisting that can occur with a single wire. The wires themselves are soft and flexible, which is comfortable, but I worry they may be easily damaged.
Overall, it’s hard to find another headset that offers such value or performance at this price point—perhaps even impossible. While the PLa’s are cheaper and sufficient, for anyone looking to enter the headset market, these are the only ones I’ll recommend moving forward. If you need higher performance, just explore the next tier in the Turtle Beach lineup; you’ll be impressed by each option.

This microphone performs well and is budget-friendly, making it an excellent choice for those on a tight budget. However, the cord that connects to each earphone forms a V shape at the control knob, and it’s a bit short and non-adjustable. If you have a larger head, the wires may feel uncomfortable around your head and neck. Nevertheless, if you’re looking for a reliable microphone that delivers decent quality at a great price, this is the one for you.

I purchased this for a Nintendo Switch, and it arrived as described and functions perfectly.

I had been using a pair of pricier Turtle Beach wireless headphones, but after breaking the plastic joint, I attempted a repair that held up for a while before failing again. Rather than fix them again, I decided to purchase these as a temporary solution and a backup for the future. However, after receiving positive feedback from my gaming friends, I’ve chosen to stick with these.
I play on an Xbox One, and initially, the sound was a bit quiet. After adjusting the settings, everything fell into place, and my friends noticed an improvement in my audio quality—both in fidelity and an unexpected reduction in echo.
I appreciate the smaller ear cups, which are also quite comfortable. The previous ones were larger and heavier. While I preferred the wireless option for freedom of movement, the wired connection doesn’t obstruct gameplay at all. I did miss the flip-up mic and mute control from my old model, but considering the price and performance, that’s a minor issue. Highly recommended!

Absolutely a worthwhile buy! The sound quality is excellent, the microphone performs well enough, and it’s reliable for casual gamers like me. This is my second pair; my first lasted two years and could have lasted longer if I had fixed the cord. Don’t overlook this headset!

This affordable headset delivers impressive quality. For those who claim the removable mic doesn’t stay in place, it’s simply a matter of inserting it correctly; if done right, it stays securely in. The only downside is that the cables from the headset to the controller feel a bit flimsy, but that’s the only area where corners were cut. Overall, I’m satisfied with my purchase and feel I got a great deal for the price.

I’ve been using these headphones for a few months, and they are durable and perform excellently. I enjoy cranking up the volume while gaming, and the bass is impressive. The microphone functions well too! I don’t usually play every day, maybe 2-4 times a week, but they have great longevity.

My 8-year-old son has been through a lot of headsets due to his rough usage. We decided to try this brand after hearing great recommendations. The headphones have performed well overall, but unfortunately, the mic stopped working after nine weeks. I didn’t notice that it was detachable when I purchased it, and I regret choosing one with that feature. His rough handling likely contributed to the damage when unplugging it.

I’ve been using these headphones for almost a year now, and I’ve been quite pleased with them. The price is affordable, under 600 pesos. The microphone for Xbox is excellent—no interference, and the audio quality is impressive, even surpassing some more expensive options. I would consider buying them again, but only for streaming purposes; currently, I mainly use them for chatting with friends during games. I wouldn’t recommend them for PC streaming, but they work well for PS4 or PS5. They’re also great for mobile tutorials and I’d give them an 8 for podcasts. I appreciate that the microphone is detachable, and they’re comfortable for larger ears.
